Felt magic in the rocks was included in the Juror’s Award Show at the Newton Media Center, Newton, MA in 2014. Juror Nick Capasso, Director of the Fitchburg Art Museum, selected the artist from the Newton Open Studios Fall Show.
Money digging was popular in early Nineteenth Century New England. Diggers would use folk magic to locate buried treasure and would seek this treasure using magical means, often in the middle of the night. Spirits guarded the treasure, and could move the hidden money just before the diggers could retrieve it.
